Sarajevo, Bosnia – The inaugural Recent Trends and Applications of Soft Computing in Engineering (RTASCE) Conference officially commenced today, drawing together a diverse assembly of researchers, practitioners, and scholars from around the globe. This significant scientific gathering is jointly organized by the Operations Research Society in Bosnia, the Research and Development Academy, and the International University of Sarajevo.
The conference aims to highlight the latest developments in engineering with a special focus on the field of Soft Computing including Computational Biology, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Statistical Methods, the Internet of Things (IoT), and Manufacturing Management. With contributions from countries like Iraq, Egypt, Ukraine, Russia, Kazakhstan, Malaysia, Saudi Arabia, Türkiye, and Ecuador, the event showcases global collaboration. After a rigorous review process, 20 papers were accepted, yielding an acceptance rate of about 40%.
Key organizational committee members include Benjamin Durakovic, Ali Almisreb, and Jasmin Sutkovic, who also serve as editors for the conference proceedings in Springer’s Lecture Notes in Networks and Systems (LNNS). They expressed that the event has exceeded expectations, highlighting the high level of engagement and the quality of discussions among participants.
Looking ahead, the RTASCE Conference is set to become a cornerstone event in the engineering research community, with plans for future editions. Authors are reminded that the manuscript due date for the conference proceedings volume is December 21, 2024, to ensure a timely compilation for publication in Springer’s Lecture Notes in Networks and Systems, indexed by SCOPUS and will be sent for consideration in Web of Science.
